The author of the story seemed to completely forget about the time that passed. If you use s a plot device like a time skip, you have to make the characters act like they’re that much older. And yet the fl is kept oblivious and immature like she didn’t grow up over the seven years she’s been there ? the further this story goes, the more disappointing it is, I swear to God. There’s absolutely no character development, no progress between the characters and the plot doesn’t make much sense.
Examples;
1. The fl was a daycare teacher in her twenties at the beginning of the story, so with those additional seven years she spent in the novel she should be (at least mentally) in her thirties. Yet her behavior doesn’t reflect that at all. She’s still immature, oblivious and plain stupid. Like with the imperial banquet or whatever – she was shocked when the Duke and Ein told her about it. Like, really? Over the course of those seven years it didn’t take place even once? How could you forget about it if it’s an annual event? Stupid. The same goes for her actions – there is no way that during SEVEN YEARS of being married to the Duke they never discussed having more kids. The fl is SUDDENLY scared of intimacy because she’s worried that her perfect little world will collapse, even though neither the Duke nor Ein gave her any indication that it would happen. And Ein even told her himself that he’d like a sibling, so what’s the problem? There is none, but the author decided glto make one for the sake of causing “drama” between the fl and the Duke. It’s beyond ridiculous at this point.
2. The crown prince- seriously, where do I even begin with that mf… ? He’s still a child and shows no sign of development. He’s so moronic in what he does and how he acts that he’s completely unlikable.
3. The situation with the nobles: merely thirty chapters ago (or even less, I don’t remember) they tried to poison the fl because they considered her a ‘weakness’ of the Chade family, and they were punished for it. Yet seven years later they still have the same plan and want to do the exact same thing as earlier? And if I remember correctly, the instigator is the same guy? The author must’ve forgotten their own work if they repeat the same plot again.
5. The fucking time skip!!!! For fuck’s sake! This is the cheapest plot device that could be possibly used, and it’s executed so poorly it makes me want to scream in frustration! The story was really enjoyable for the most part, but after the magical “seven years later” it became absolute shit. Everything went downhill so fast it made my head spin.
Of course, I’m not saying it’s the comic artist’s fault, since they’re only making an adaptation of a novel. It’s the og author’s fault that this has become a disaster. The lack of consistency, progress and character development is solely the author’s fault. And the cheap and stupid plot devices like the sudden misunderstandings that are dragged out for many chapters are the cherry on top. I can’t deal with this anymore because it only pisses me off. Maybe I’ll come back to this again when there are more chapters out, and hopefully there’ll be some progress and character development. Because now this story has become unbearable to read.

funny how the prince cant win in any logical conversation so he had to immediately invoke his status as a reason? Him picking a fight at every moment shows how incompetent he really is and the king should be getting reports on their behavior and reprimand them appropriately. A fight isn’t the answer because when the prince looses he isn’t going to man up and put their differences aside, he’s just going to cry harder and let the opposition to the spanner family convince him they are too strong if they beat royalty and need to be rein in
Honestly, it’s exactly as Ain said. The Crown Prince is incompetent. All he does is complain to his father about how the Chade family did this and that. B*tch doesn’t even know that the Chade family is the only reason he can enjoy his royal status. ??♀️??♀️ The Chade family do all the dirty work behind the scenes, and that’s why the Emperor trusts them. Meanwhile, the Crown Prince and Nobles are sitting on their asses and complaining 24/7 ???
