the grandma reminds me of my bfs grandma. she’ll say one thing but it means another and she gets mad when no one understands that that’s what she meant. She wasn’t like that before but as her health deteriorates, it just gets worse. it’s emotional blackmail and it’s really difficult to handle coz it plays on your own sense of ethics.

FLs family is just full of emotional blackmailers but at the same time, it’s obvious she isn’t really their kid.
Here’s what I think the family situation is for the FL:
– the mom and dad continuously emotionally blackmail the daughter to work inside and outside the house
– the brother is completely spoiled and uses “studying” (i 1000% doubt he even opens his books at all in his room) as an excuse to get out of working for the family
– the grandmother, while old, is quite a bully herself for using death as an excuse to make the FL do more work for her
Honestly those people are the worst?
I agree with you except for the grandmother bullying the FL so that she does more work. What she’s doing is quite a bit more complicated than that. It’s emotional blackmail and it is used to keep someone from leaving that person. What they usually do is pointedly say that they are “dying” (very rarely the case) while they also make you believe that you are the sole reason that they are still alive which makes one believe that if you try to leave the situation you are in… that person will pass away without YOUR care. My mother used to do the same thing to me from the time I was 11-13 with the help of her first husband. She would ask me who would I live with if she passes away (during those two years, she constantly complained about being in pain and that she was going to die) on top of manipulating me into believing that no other family member would care for me like she did. It was her way of controlling me and making me be more obedient. That’s the case here.
Michael is so cute but there’s sadness in his eyes ..maybe his parents didn’t care about him at all..or again,his mother died after giving him birth or due to sudden illness…or maybe poisoned by the rival queen..I know this repeated plot lol….sorry..
When she leaves them I hope they don’t get anything like compensation or her sending them money, they should end up more miserable then they already are
