If this didn’t look like a typical manhua, I would have hoped for Lord Robert to return later on and reveal that he had faked his death in order to investigate (or might even confess that he brought the current female lead’s soul into this world since Robert was a supreme mage).
But this story certainly IS a typical manhua. So Robert is basically treated as if he had died twenty years ago already, the oh-so-lovely-female lead has never cared about her hubby at all and such doesn’t mourn his death either. Even Robert’s small son Sirius doesn’t talk about his father anymore. *sigh*
Ugh that whole women looking for power in a society that makes them dependent in men trope. Oh the horror how dare they do what they can to better their lives. Smdh that isn’t to say killing your husband is ok, but it’s pretty obvious why they would.
