The writer should have just pick the “nanny-to-wifey” or the “contractual marriage” trope instead of this. He picked up a wife to make her “take care” of his daughter. But the girl she took in doesn’t have any remarkable traits related to childcare. It also doesn’t make sense that the child has an existing nanny to begin with. He’s not replacing the nanny either. It would make more sense if he brought home a wife to do the duchess’ role and then the child started warming up to the fml in the process
