I really, really hope that the criminal underworld-ruler marquis Dante Oppenheimer (dark-haired lover of the original Elze/Else) will not turn out to be the main male lead. I mean, there’s still a chance, right?
That merchant-type long-haired count Benedict Rüdeburck/Lüneburg unfortunately gives off sub-male-lead-vibes. But I think he could be a cool actual male lead – clever, cautious, but also kind and maybe a teaser. Plus a lot more light-hearted and humorous than Dante.
Being the partner/wife of a criminal means leading a life that is basically constantly threatened, partly by other criminals that are in opposition to your family/clan, partly by your own partner who could lose his interest in you anytime and will throw you away 🙁
