I do get why this white-haired black-magic-using step-daughter duchess tries to “bewitch” the emperor – she is always praised by everybody, she is known for managing the territory well, she’s absolutely beautiful too, so she thinks she’s on top of the world and the emperor will have to fall for her after a while too 😀
And well, let’s be honest – it really doesn’t make much sense that the emperor even started to fall in love with the female lead in the first place. The female lead acted way too weirdly. Sure, she was cheeky, which has its charm, but then she also often suddenly got all cowardly and spouted easy-to-see-through lies 🙁 She also has no merits to show off, like no work that she did well or something…
All the female lead has that the white-haired witch has not are the unrealistic unearned perks of a protagonist with tons of plot armor :/
