The son definitely manipulated everything. He’s the one who used the butler and sent the women, throwing their first night off course I bet the Count thought it was Eve’s preference, that’s why he was acting so off. It probably wasn’t that he was embarrassed, he just didn’t want her to misunderstand.. It seems like the son knew Eve before she married the Count but couldn’t find her, and did everything to prevent them from consummating the marriage so he could have her eventually. It was all possible because the Count is very simple and gullible.
