Mugwort+garlic+cave+bear reference is from the creation myth of Korea. A tiger and a bear prayed to the divine king in hopes of becoming human. The divine king heard their prayers and gave them cloves of garlic and a bundle of mugwort and ordered them to eat only that and stay in the dark cave and never see the sunlight for 100 days. The tiger left the cave midway because it got too hungry but the bear remained steadfast. So after the fast the bear was transformed into a beautiful woman(Ungnyeo). Later on she married the divine king and gave birth to a son(Dangun) who founded Korea. I remember this story from the Ex-rank supporting role’s replay novel.
