For anyone wondering, I think this is what the bad translation means:
Nina wants to move away from maid-work and become Dio’s student so she can gain wealth and power on her own. If she gives in to the king, she will get wealth and power but it will only be hers as long as shes in his favor; its not based on her own abilities.
He then tries to make her stay because he’s “become addicted” to her cooling touch. So he needs her. She sats theres no chance that can happen because if thw king cares so much about the people (which he does) then he would do his best to not be addicted to something like the kings of past were. Nina refers to the book she was reading because of this, which is a story about how maids suffered because of kings who were drug abusers.
Finally, after she leaves, Nina wonders why he wants to hold onto herself so badly. She thinks theres no way he could want her so he must be using her, but for what? This is where the freckle phrase comes in. Idk anything about Korean phrases, so this is all a guess. “Freckles make a lady ugly” and a lady with clear skin makes her desirable. Ive seen it in K dramas where a pretty girl will “disguise” herself by putting makeup on with freckles to make herself look homely. Keeping this in mind, Nina comes to the conclusion that the King wants to keep her close so people dont discover his weakness for Seraphie. In other words, Nina is the “freckles” that hides Seraphie’s “beauty” from the king’s enemies.
Thats why Nina is so bitter in the end. She knows the king doesnt actually like her. He just wants to use her to hide his weakness.

hmm – I do not quite get it, but she seems a bit savage since the king is supposed to be in really bad pain… there will be better times to discuss that he should not see her as a pet, that she dreams of leaving him and career choices
