It was mentioned earlier but this chapter definitely confirms that the sect leader didn’t kill the ML’s parents. They were killed for being friendly towards him. Ak saw the aftermath of the sect leader more than likely killing those who went after his parents.
He never cleared up the misunderstanding so that the ML would be fueled by revenge. It’s also possible that he WANTS him to take his life (in this chapter he does shows sadness that everyone around him is killed and that he wanted to settle down and live a normal life but can’t now that he’s the sect leader)

Yeah good point. I understood the first part about him not wanting others to know she was dear to him so she wouldn’t be used against him, but why is her maid weak? They totally could’ve found a strong martial artist to be her nanny from the get-go.
