makes sense to have annex halls that can be heated separately. a lot of estates were multiple buildings to cut down on costs in winter. no point in wasting the firewood if you don’t have guests in an entire wing of the mansion. i never understood manhwa’s proclivity to have winter dukes live in one-building palaces that would be absurdly expensive to heat in winter. it just doesn’t make any sense
