   WTF is this plot though? She’s killed by the brother of the duke because he died in a war?
   That guy is a complete nutcase to blame her for this, and I am amazed he’s not the antagonist of the story; man is a total sociopath…

      After reading more, this is pretty bad. Everything is absurdly generic; if you think you know what will happen next at any moment, you’re right.
      Nothing new or interesting compared to every other of the millions of regression stories out there.
      If you want a plain story that’s more of the same, this has you covered; if you want a decent story or something special, this ain’t it.

      The royal family promised to support them in protecting the borders. Their family was loyal and sent their men and they themselves also fought on the front lines.
      They were protecting the royal family’s interests, but the promised support (princess’ dowry) never came. Without funds and manpower, they lost to the invading army and his brother lost his life along with many of the territory’s citizens.
      Think of it this way, they were hired to fight but were never payed for it. They were promised reinforcements but were never given any. Not rebelling at that point is beyond low-self esteem.
