She is married to the emperor to kill him. She clearly has some sort of power that is capable of killing living things probably as a way to heal herself. Based on the fact that in the first chapter if you actually read it and he bit her so hard that she started bleeding the “power” she has might cause some sort of aggression or insanity so her murder of the emperor would look more like self defense if he is dead and she is covered in bites and scratches.
