Read @Catfish’s comment and it makes far more sense that Duke Reston was responsible for the kidnapping. He has the motive unlike Florin’s family who just want Astelle gone. The only reason I think they would change it is to establish a relationship between her and Theor but it seems Marian’s later connection is with Astelle so I don’t know, why bother with the change? The kidnapping here just became a cluster of nonsense where motives make no sense and the heroes end up looking dumber than they should.
There is no such thing as this in the novel. Sorry but it was the duke of Reston who kidnapped Theor and Marian is not as bad as like that. Yes Florin sent her into the palace to take the crime she did not commit,but Astelle is quick to notice that it was not her. And as for her punishment,Astelle made Marian her maid in the empress palace. Marian struggled first and did not understand the empress’ decision. She find the empress kind and considerate and sided with her,but sometimes she’s thorn between the empress and her family. She totally let go of her family when Florin wanted to poison the dog(blynn) but Astelle and Hannah caught her(Marian). Florin and their father sent the poison to Marian together with a note. Marian told the emperor that her sister and father sent her the poison to poison the crown prince Theor. Marian,after that incident serves the empress with all honesty
As someone who already finished reading the novel, they slightly change the storyline here. On the novel, the duke of Reston is the one who kidnapped Theo and figured out that he’s a prince. Anyways I always love the spice 💜
i’m glad they actually gave her enough depth to have her figure out letting an innocent kid die is a fucked up thing to do no matter what your personal grievance is with his mom
