And if you read the similar storys you could know that must of the emperors wouldn’t just divorce the doughther of their enemy who they could just use her as tool for fighting against them .
He really is a pitiful man that not only never had a chance to love the woman she wants but also his chance of being a father for his own child was taken from him .
My biggest beef with the ml is that he’s basically holding the fl’s grandfather and nephew (son) hostage because he’s salty she’s moved on with her life.
He knows that she isn’t interested in getting back together, but he won’t accept her feelings on the matter and insists on putting her in awkward/dangerous situations so he can have the satisfaction of wooing her.
(She has no political power and yet the emperor chose her for the first dance, has been seen mingling with her, etc. It’s not just her reputation on the line and he doesn’t seem to get even that. Sends her extravagant/expensive gifts which even here in reality, put the receiver in an awkward situation and lead to unrealistic expectations. Goes against her wishes wrt the child SHE is raising whom he’s only known for, like, a week. And makes decisions regarding that child without telling her. (If a strange man ever asks you to keep a conversation secret from your mom, don’t))
Yeah, it sucks that he lost his chance with her, but she doesn’t own him a second one. No, it’s not his fault, but this is putting this all on her to come back to him and completely uproot her life to make him happy again when she’s found her own happiness without him.
I 100000% agree with this tho he didn’t tell her why he divorce her I have so much because he thought that she was working with her father and he couldn’t work dad and I’m assuming that he did try to find her but she went in hiding it’s not his fault for being on the guard for his safety and also his empire safety because of her father and if people judge him for that then so be it. Because everyone is entitled to their own opinion and yes she does have the right to be happy on her own but it would be interesting and kind of nice if she would get to understand what he’s going through as well that’s why they say communication is key
