You’re right BUT the Emperor does suspect that the child is his son. Remember the first time he saw him even though he has blue eyes, he suspected that the child was his. Even despite the story of him being Estelle’s nephew (which right after, he gave her a look that stated he didn’t believe her for a second. That was until they found that there WAS a child in the family that the grandfather adopted as his own). Deep down he does suspect but the way that the author wrote the story, even with the evidence and constant ‘he looks like me’ face that the Emperor makes, he always acts surprised. It’s a common plot hole that many authors fall into.
Because they want to keep the “hide in place sight” story, they will adhere to the story despite hinting REPEATEDLY that more than one person suspects that the child belongs to the person they are hiding from.

I am now on chapter 49 of the novel **************** SPOILER ****************** and I can say with confidence that he is NOTHING DOES NOT SUSPECT. The grandfather they were going to meet (such a charmer) gave them a reason to suspect, but this dumbass did not understand anything. He thinks that the grandfather is a scoundrel, sent the mother of the child away and does not allow him to grow in maternal love, and uses his granddaughter as a servant (although all he does is protect her from the emperor and other idiots). When I read ML’s mind, I wanted to give him a good beating. All he does is try to make amends for his sins when a situation similar to what happens in the past turns up. I understand it gives him relief from his conscience and sleep at night. **************** SPOILER******************** I hope everything works out for her in life, but not with this jerk . Moreover, the palace is too toxic a place for a child.

I still dont like the ML, he treated FL so poorly that she had to runaway and take care of her child alone? but its a goodthing that her dad is with her. Its hard to raise a child alone.
