@Japu19 do you really expect it to be that easy? Do you really expect Ruby to be all badass after living through the same traumatic experiences twice? If you actually took time to search and realize why she acts this way maybe you would be more empathetic rather than be a bashful person who doesn’t understand that trauma doesn’t always make you stronger and it certainly does not disappear overnight. What the author is doing is displaying the severity trauma has on a person and it doesn’t always mean she becomes a super badass girly like you’d hope cause that’s not how it works. rather, Ruby will have to live with the fact that this trauma will always be there no matter what and not only that she also has to live in an environment with people that hate her and can’t stand her and just now has she got like 3 people on her side. Ruby is not a weak person but rather strong, she is a person with PTSD, anorexia, an illness, and much more yet she strives and does everything in her power to live. Ruby’s behavior is because of her past abuse causing her to act like this, it’s a defense mechanism from her body that she gradually learned to use during circumstances even if it may seem ridiculous. So next time don’t confuse the fact that every person who has gone through some shit will automatically be a super strong boss who can withstand everything and anything.
