people are being so stupid. “why is he saying he can’t abandon her when he has neglected her?” did you not read the previous chapters?? he literally did not like her because he didn’t want to be in a random marriage to a girl he hasn’t even seen before. Her personality is completely opposite to him, ofc he found her annoying and stayed away from her. this novel imo does the arranged marriage trope well because he didn’t like her, and she also didn’t like him she only pretended to in order to survive how do you expect two people who have been through so much to come together all happy and sharing their deepest secrets with each other. Izek is now saying “I can’t abandon her” because his feelings for her has grown positively a crazy amount, he understands so much more about her and ofc not the whole story, but he knows she feels alone and tries to put on a happy face to hide her true feelings. now he wants to try and get to know her better he knows he cares about her much more than he used to so now he’s saying I can’t abandon her because he doesn’t want her to feel isolated and alone anymore feeling like she has to live with her monster friends instead of feeling comfortable with people because no, she cannot live with animals forever it is actually healthier to build connections with people
Y’all can’t even wait until we get to his story. Yes she’s traumatized, yes there’s a lot of things that happened to her but at the same time ml and his sister both went through something too (it was in the first chapter i think) and also the manga is in Ruby’s pov and until now we have only got to see 1-2 chapters with his real thoughts. We can clearly see that something happened to the siblings that made them so cold. Also he literally said he didn’t wanted to be like his father or some shit like that and do y’all remember that it was said that his mother killed herself? Something traumatic must’ve happened with them too.
Ruby barely tells anything about her and her family to him and yes from her actions we can tell that something might’ve happened. We love her because we are the readers and we know about her background but ml and the others don’t. Her actions are very suspicious considering the fact that her family is kinda like the enemy for their land. Also don’t tell me that y’all would treat someone who’s from an enemy country (?) In a good way.

Izek is at the fault why his wife misunderstood him. He should have told her why he pushed her away like that, but no. He chooses to stay with that damn bitch. He left his wife all alone there.
Ruby’s fault is that she didn’t tell izek what she’s suffering through. But I understand why she did that because she wants to leave a good impression to her husband also for the people around her.

I respectfully disagree. I feel like she doesn’t really owe the Duke anything, she’s made her wants clear. Of course that’s not how the story will go and they will probably be happy in the end but I think she was perfeovalid in lot wanting to go back there. Also I think she would be able to survive with the monsters, obviously a little more ruggedly but They take good care of her and she would obviously set up some kind of long term living situation for survival
