I understand that Izek wants to change but is it really worth it for Rudbeckia to go back to that hell hole? Despite being a legitimate daughter to her family, she was treated as nothing but a tool for their own selfish desires while at the Duke’s estate, she’s treated worse than trash and has faced physical, emotional and mental abuse from day one.
Here at the forest, we as the readers are finally seeing her be genuinely be happy with her surroundings; no expectations and no scorn, she’s free here. Sure, she did remember all those she left behind but it only brought forth painful memories and she wasn’t wrong in thinking that they would likely forget about her soon. And even if she does go back, Izek can’t protect her, what is gonna fight against the whole capital for what they think about his wife? Your very servants, especially your Nanny, abused your wife but there was nothing you could do. It’s even worse knowing that they ignored a few of those incidents when they should have taken action. I know he’s trying but he’s only one man and there’s a limit of how long you can stay beside her to protect her.
……. I just don’t see this relationship working for the ML and FL if both, especially the latter, are just gonna keep on suffering. It’s not healthy in any way….
A very good point! But this is “romance” so the author will use some sort of loophole/plot hole or some other lazy way to bring them together.
I have noticed this with certain manhua/manhwa/manga in the romance genre, the relationship is EXTREMELY toxic and abusive, and yet, they masquerade it as romance and bring the couple back together even when the FL is much, MUCH happier elsewhere. I don’t know why they keep portraying a few relationships in this manner of being abusive, toxic, heartbreaking, etc. Those are not good relationships. I actually hate it because I think she would be happier AND better off with her monster friends. The author could have even brought in an entirely different man who could have helped her and I mean REALLY HELP her through her trauma. Sadly, it’s not this ML and we aren’t going to get that type of story.
Izek doesn’t know how to treat a woman because his father himself couldn’t treat his mother properly. it was also the reason why he didn’t want to get married. he doesn’t want to behave like his father but behave in that way without realizing it. I hate him first, but he will get better in the future
