I read the translated novel too and this manhwa seems like adapting chapter per chapter of the novel so it will took long enough for the bitches to get their karma but at least the trash husband will favor Ruby from this moment on. But I still hate that she will get back to him just like that ?
ya know, im not sure why everyone hates izek so much? like he’s not the nicest dude ever but his reasons for being sus of her arent invalid?? the pope IS corrupt as fuck, she hasnt established with anyone that she isnt on his side, she does lie quite a bit, and it was an entire political marriage. im not saying he shouldnt be nicer to her and he should definitely start paying attention to the bullshit shes going through, but with the limited information he does have, its not unreasonable to be suspicious

if he continues to be an asshole after this, then yeah, he’s garbage. but this is the first time he’s truly getting more information about her treatment

I like Ruby alot btw, she’s prolly one of my fav protags (she’s a painfully realistic depiction of what certain abuse can do to a person) and I definitely think she deserves awesome things and lots of happiness (also for her shitty brother and shitty father to die horribly)
but the characters I hate arent izek and ellenia, who are just ignorant of her situation and doing their best with the info they have. I hate cessiar who makes my skin crawl with his creepy obsession with his sister, i hate the pope who beats his children and uses them as political pawns, i hate freya who decided to attack and abuse ruby without ever getting to know her, i hate lorenzo whos a creepy siscon who needs to stop, i hate the head maid who thinks she knows ‘best’ and treats ruby like the worst
Ellen has mostly just tried to get to know Ruby and treated her with decency generally. Izek has only tried to keep his distance from her because he didn’t want this marriage to begin with. Neither of them have done anything horrific to her and most of their actually shitty behavior is explained with simple ignorance and none of it has been out of malice
w/e, my point is that i dont think izek is the worst :/ he’s not the best guy ever but i don’t need the ML to be a perfect person to be likeable lol
I mean this logic could be applied in the beginning of the manga, when they didn’t know truly a thing about her except the fact that she could have been a spy sent by the pope. But after a while it was pretty clear that she did nothing, she was powerless and also even the sister and him KNEW that on her body there were clear sign of abuse and eating disorders. So no, I don’t think they aren’t guilty, they just didn’t give a f* enough to ask her and actually help her. Everyone was so cruel to her, just because they could, because no one cares about her well being and she was the one that could have been dragged around by servants, soldiers, and everyone who wanted to.

But go be honest. The way people treated her is just because of the suspicion about her motives. And what’s frustrating me is the fact that she don’t want to explain herself even at the coming chapters where there’s an incident where Freya poured tea in herself and blamed it on Ruby but as usual FL just said she didn’t do it.
