HUNDREDS OF TIMES that she wasnt a villan she was just in a villans body. she’s just doing everything in her power to survive suffering from trauma is so hard she’s dealing with so much yet everyone still seems to hate her. She’s so strong I would have killed myself already.
@bern007, first of all, Ruby had never claimed to be a villain like ever just in case you’ve even read the story. She only mentioned the fact that she was born in the Villian’s body. Second, have you ever been in such a situation ever? if you have you would have known that it snot easy AT ALL and especially in Ruby’s case. a little reminder that Ruby has already been through a lot if you can’t tell and confrontation is something a person with serious mental issues like ptsd will have even more major difficulties to confront someone. Ruby is a very damaged and closed off person if you haven’t noticed and honestly most people wouldn’t even be as brave as ruby right now. Let me also mention that ruby’s body is in a very weak state and if she had barged in she would have not only fainted at that point but also made everything worse considering her positon right now
If anyone has anything bad to say about her reacting the way she does to these situations, educated yourself. CPTSD can be extremely psychologically limiting: it controls your actions reactions, sensory processing permanently altering the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus and amygdala’s functions. If you can’t possibly recognize why she can’t simply stand up for herself in these instances- you don’t understand how much trauma especially from physical abuse re-wires your brain. It has a very literal cerebral effect on decision making- destroying your capacity for emotional regulation, memory recall- often creating memory distortions and psychosomatic stress responses- such as restained breathing, shaking, nausea, vomiting etc.
She used to be whipped like a slave for doing even the slightest thing wrong in both of her lives- amongst other imploed abuse. To not be able to see how that might dissuade her from standing up in the face of violence (verbal or otherwise) then you need to take a look at your capacity for empathy. She isnt concerned with anything other than survival her brain never leaves fight or flight mode.
