I fail to understand the complaining for this chapther. Like sure, we all wish to see Ruby and Izek, but for a story and their characters to have depth their motivs and actions have to be explained eventually. Having a guy that’s evil simply because they are evil without reasoning is a children’s cartoon level of comprehension. This chapther wasn’t necessarily supposed to make you feel bad or empathise with Cezar, not at all, but to just add depth and reasoning behind his actions, despite it being wrong. Sure, you can have a villain who harasses, kills and torments simply because they are a psychopath and enjoys it, but having a more in depth character with reasoning behind his actions that you still hate in the end is far more entertaining and enjoyable in my opinion instead of having a copy paste cliche villain with a different face each time. There are plenty of cozy romance manhwas out there if that’s what you’re looking for, but in this one if you haven’t realised how the author like to go more in depth with different topics like trauma, relationships and abusers, then it might not be a story for you.

I see this more as an explanation of why he’s so twisted and how and why he began to abuse Ruby more than a justification (becase there’s none) he realized really late that he should have just killed his “father”instead of just doing his biding. I still feel no simpathy towards him at all and I hope he dies a horrible death, but now we know how it all began.
