I’m not upset that they chose to leave out ruby getting beaten to the point where she cant see bc of the blood running down her face (Honestly some of y’all are kinda weird for being so upset that she didnt get her ass beat harder), but damn dude i’m really bummed that they left out the ” When he looks at me, I feel like I’m the only girl in the world. When he looks at me, I dont have a single flaw. I’m a goddess in his eyes. I’m perfect. Who knew that being loved would feel like this?” line…. :((((((

I like how this turned out for the most part though it definitely does not do justice to the depravity of Cesare that the novel illustrates. I think her speech was pretty okay and I don’t mind the changes I even like the curse at the end though it does lack some of the emotion the original gave with her comparisons to izek and desceiptions of how he makes her feel especially the “with him i am goddess” line. However where I think this fell short is his reaction, in the novel he is brutal, forcing her into submission. In the novel he quite literally beats her bloody and is pulling her by the hair when izek arrives. I realize that may have been too graphic to show in detail but he almost seems sympathic here which does not sit it right with me after what hes done. He is ultimately controlling and violent when he doesn’t get what he wants and their rendition of the mirror scene really does not illustrate this key characteristic about him at all. It looks like pushing her into the mirror here was somewhat an accident instead of the intentional violent outburst it is.
rereading this chapter made me realize again and again that the hype definitely died down which is different from the novel ughhh but we can really see Ruby’s resolution and character development here banzai

Honestly, I expected more. In the novel, this part is much more intense. To begin with, Cesare hurts Ruby much more, to the point that Izek arrives and sees her covered in blood. Ruby’s speech is also much more emotional, she remembers all of Izek’s love, affection, their nights of love, and tells Cesare that when she is with Izek she feels happy and when she is with him she feels disgusted. (This is when Cesare freaks out and hits her a lot.) That’s why the emotional weight is much greater.
Well I feel sorry for his brother.. I understand tho what he feels about the fl but then it’s wrong to possess someone and force them to do what you want. I hope his brother will turn a new leaf and find someone worthy of his love.
Since i was spoiled on what was supposed to happen from the novel, i was VERY excited for these next couple chapters, and instantly became disappointed after reading this one, skipped a huge part, disappointing but still a good chapter, hoping brother dies to him next chapter 🙂
For all Novel readers, it’s normal that not everything is the same. It’s not possible, and i understand that you all are disappointed but we others are happy 🙂
