Shut up. I know it’s a PR move. But in the eyes of Alicia, even if it is a constract marriage, she is still going to take it the wrong way. That woman literally said in the last fucking chapter that the part of the reason for this proposal is because she needed an “heir”. And it seemed that Alicia immediately took it as she’s going to have an heir with Clifford. Not to mention he practically put her on a pedestal in front of all the other candidates. She’s not just an empress candidate like the rest of them, she’s like a +1. For someone Clifford wants to be empress so bad, not letting her in on his “PR Stunt” obviously has potential for misunderstands in the future 🙄
