This was something I kind of didn’t understand about God’s curse on her. This might contain some spoilers, but I’ll try and keep it to a minimum. So she was cursed by God because she nearly destroyed the world. The only reason she lost was because it was her student who eventually killed her. But if we backup a sec, it was because she was forced into the demon lands by humankind. She was thrown away and banished. The MC continued to fight and fight and fight. Her body slowly succumbing to the demonic energy of the land itself. Slowly corrupting her thoughts. Eventually, she went mad and turned her blade on humanity in revenge for what they’d done to her. She was barely even cognizant of what she was doing.
Originally, her curse was supposed to be even WORSE. But her student took a part of her curse on himself. After he had killed her, her form was purified by the holy sword and she reverted to her original appearance. He realized he had killed his teacher with his own hands and mourned her, he was angry that God was going to curse her because of her transgressions. Since it wasn’t really all her fault and she couldn’t have done anything to really stop it. So he begged to take on a part of her curse, reasoning that he was also at fault. Since she was banished protecting him.
