old times women were treated badly like property FL knows yet seeks stupid divorce, FL is very dumb & I like ML so much the story is not bad because of him, and CPs behavior doesn’t even make any sense, is he bragging to show duke down or he is pleased to be pursued by FL? either way that’s not how someone who hates a person acts…… clearly ofc there is too much b/w CP & ML which I get, but why is this FL acts so clueless despite reading novel + experiencing stuff during divorce strategies

@Eveaustria, women used to considered property. If a rich woman ran away, she was usually branded insane and locked away in a prison for the insane, which was just as bad as any other prison.

It’s alright for a story to be ridiculous as long as it is very funny.
But I really hate this weird idea that women are put in jail when they run away (even from an abusive husband or father???) and want to live alone… This stupid idea is completely unnecessary.
