I think him dying now would be bad for Go’s plans, since her son is so young, but keeping the emperor ill so she has more control over the palace would make sense. (Also, how could the emperor not see how infinitely evil his favorite Consort is? Leaving his kids to be raised by her? I mean come on, shes so evil it seeps out through her makeup.)
