Vincent doesn’t know the empress of the country who is also a famous witch (who even hunts other witches) and the sister of the husband of Selena/Selene on top of it? Or did she not even exist in former timelines? How absurd.
And what’s with this dumb trope “The current female lead was the original fl all along”? It’s gotten way too popular lately, but I’m really, really getting tired of it. In most cases – just like in this story – it simply doesn’t make any sense; especially considering that the fl also remembers reading a novel (how did this one appear in our world?) about the timeline where Rowen took the place of Selene/Selena.
How did the fl’s soul even come to live in “our” world for a full lifetime if she originally belonged to this fantasy world that mixes our world’s Victorian age style with some modern stuff like only a fiction story created by an author of our world would?
Also: how many of these former lives has it been her who went through this horrible marriage (without her body remembering the repeated trauma this must have caused?), how often was it “Rowen” instead?
How come Varas/Barras loves the fl’s sugary scent now, while he totally couldn’t stand it in a former timeline? But he complained about the thick smell of sugar in the last timeline where Rowen took the place of Selena/Selene! While this time Varas/Barras clearly said the false Selena/Selene does NOT smell like sugar?
