What sets this story apart from so many others is that the characters don’t forget the instances where they were belittled or fooled easily unlike so many others that just create a ‘forgive-and-forget’ scenario due to mundane comedy scene and from then on, it’s just fluffy romance.
The ML in this story has seen right through the FL and was brave enough to say it all to her face and he’s right. She’s not someone ‘good’, if anything she’s no better than all the other nobles who she herself admonishes for treating commoners fairly when she doesn’t do the same behind closed doors
