This is beyond ridiculous. He somehow not a normal king to her. She is a librarian. She should know that historically throne succession is a bloody thing and they absolutely murder each other. Not only that what he did was not just for him to get the throne it was also revenge for his mother’s murder. It was also against a terrible royal who screwed over their subjects.
