   This seems like a shitty version of Overgeared. I see why people are hating on this. Crazy how authors this days have no imagination instead they pirate ideas from other famous works.

   It lacks an overarching story. This seems like a story of an adventurer that accepts random quest. Their is no motivation or long term plan like revenge or empire building. It is not the best story. The art is good. The drama is lacking.

   I like how there’s 1 billion players but 1.2 billion people have attempted the scarecrow challenge and also that 1 billion people have the money to spend 7k USD on a gaming device. 7k is not an amount you can just use for even most American citizens. Now imagine if you are not in a first world country the price is a years work for some people this is really weird. I’m still gonna read it tho

   This plays out like all those solo leveling copies where the mc is a necromancer, but runs around with 3 summons and is basically an assassin. They dont understand the setup for solo leveing being that sjw did not want to be a “necromancer” but rather was chosen by the system, so his use of daggers and assassin like fighting style makes sense. These cookie cutter manga always overlook that though and we just end up with something like a cook who also happens to be great with a sword. If you enjoy this manga and honestly just want a “blacksmith” manga where the mc is also a heavy combatant i would recommend overgeared.

   Up to chapter 15 he is less of a blacksmith and more of a mercenary or knight who makes his own weapons.

   TLdr; poor blacksmith manga, possibly ok swordmaster manga?

   You would assume as a blacksmith he would spend the vast majority of his time in a smithy or even just making things, but alas he is basically a sword master who can make weapons. Compared to overgeared this plays out far worse, grid became a blacksmith by chance so him jumping at the chance to run around with a sword at any chance was fine, because he never truly wanted to be a blacksmith. This is far worse due to the fact that the mc IS a blacksmith. The mcs experience consists of blacksmithing and construction work, zero experience in actual sword play, now this would be fine as a direct comparison overgeared, allowed grid to be an overwhelming swordsman due to his stats being far higher than those of a comparative level, and this manga utilizes that too! Stats far higher than what they typically should be, the problem? he is not overwhelming due to his stats but due to a magic sword sense that was created out of nowhere, at no point did he do kendo, or fencing or any sword related activity, yet he posses a magic sword sense that makes him a superior swordsman, now im no stranger to ass pull abilities but they didnt even try with this, i would’ve been fine if it was set up as something like his ability to read sword intent or understand a swords emotion, something that could justify an increased sword skill level will also reinforcing the fact that he is a gifted blacksmith.
