The idea is not bad, per se, but the execution is terrible. Let’s supposed that she has this childhood friend (ML) and he went to serve in some war. She doesn’t know when he will come back, if he will be alright and if he will want to marry her, but by the looks of it, she doesn’t even remember his face! What’s wrong with the “elders” to force her to marry her own uncle? Not someone elder but unrelated, not someone from another wealthy family, no… her own freaking uncle!! Now, FL’s been growing up with Asha by her side since she has a child and… no one recognized Asha just because she has shorter hair and is dressing pants? Damn! Either everyone in that world is blind or they ar dumb!… Now ML returnes from the war, finds out that she’s getting married to someone he doesn”t know and instead of talking to her calmly, he makes a scene? Wow, this is more dramatic than “Wuthering Heights”…. It could have been such a good read but, I guess the author likes forced romance without substance!
If I would be in FL’s shoes… I would have taken that month I have still in control of the inheritance to hire an assessine’s guild and murder every single one of the people who are in cahoots with the uncle and finally also murder the uncle or just murder the uncle and stay as the sole direct heir of house Knightly and just bribe the eldes to do my bidding! I could even go to the royal family and make an agreement with them, total funding for their projects as long as she’s declare the sole heir of the family and the one that can control all its assets. I mean, there are so many ways to make this work on her favor that’s ridiculous she hasn’t thought of any but a fake finace! It’s not rocket science, it’s just pure logic!
So if the female lead can already use all the money (with the seal and signet ring of her father I suppose?), why does she not try bribing the people who were bribed by the uncle with even more money?
Why would the girl be “dumb” by creating a fake fiancé, when the male lead has not yet proposed to her and obviously didn’t even even stay in contact per letters?
Sure, her “plans” are a bit weird, but since right now it looks like she will be forced by her family to marry someone horrible if she doesn’t run away really quickly, it should be understandable that she simply panickes.
I dislike the male lead – his thoughts might have been sweet, but his actions are the opposite. Why did he keep her in the dark about his feelings and future plans/hopes; but the first moment he meets her again, why does he grab her wrist and rudely/angrily demands to know what’s up with her (fake) engagement? He does not have even basic manners and she’s not his property!
sigh….. she’s so dumb you created a fake fiancé so create a fake child while you are at it, spending all fortune?? her plan is all dumb how about she make money work for her, maybe some business n all why want to suffer in the convent not to mention what will happen to your mansion you can’t take it with you can you? and there is more I can say but before that, she didn’t know ML was her fiancé. I gotta see what her uncle did, but now this FL seems utterly pathetic I dislike when a woman throws herself like this on a man, for now, this guy is nice he is ML but not always and this reckless stuff can also involve a child…. though manhwa land doesn’t always go that way
