Right, the extra stories are mostly about Diana and Helios, which are annoying, especially Diana… Just a side note btw, there’s no antagonist on this series, rather, Hestia is both the protagonist and the antagonist… Helios is actually praise by Kael in the novel as a good leader, which I think he is, he’s just trap between feelings for Diana and his responsibility as the crown prince who is now managing the kingdom (because unlike here in manhwa, the king in the novel is already ill), so he is busy managing both internal and state affairs…
You are right about that. Also, we don’t see in the novel the POV of Cael, only on the extra stories and it just a little of it. I’m really enjoying reading his thoughts and seeing act behind the scenes.
This whole first part is not in the manhwa, this is original… I kept thinking why make such difference, then I remembered that the forum thread that discusses the novel, someone mentioned that the author tend to forget some key points in the story, like e.g the pink ring, that ring was never brought up again, a little spoiler, Hestia asked Kael what he’ll give her on their 2nd anniversary, rather she asked “are you giving me a ring? To which Kael replied “you’ll know” (like when that anniv arrive, she’ll know) but until the end of the novel, that 2nd anniv gift was never brought up, probably because there’s a time skip that occured shortly after their first anniv, but nonetheless, no flashbacks or extra story was made to clarify what that gift will be.
So I think the changes made here in manhwa was to give something fresh to the story, while also correcting some of the og authors forgotten details.
