I think it’s more admiration than crushing on Hestia but then again if the crown prince does end up crushing on her than he a dirt bag who enjoys taking his besties things. Probably why he took Diana too but then again that is how the author wrote it out so then after the novel ending this all the crown prince personality. Plus in Hestia first life or 2nd I guess looking at her real one as a reader, once Kael died the crown prince and princess marriage ends up falling apart. Sooooooo I mean they aren’t meant to be after all if they let that break them up. Why not the cp crushing on an already married woman be there too loll

The older blonde lady beside her wants to get close to the princess, but Diana hasn’t been hosting social gatherings or anything like that. Instead, she’s been relying on the woman who helped Hestia find the tailor who is kind of like blondie’s social rival(?) so she feels snubbed. Hestia promised her that she would cause a commotion at the tea party so that she could step in and “save” Diana to get in her good graces.
This was chapters ago and we’ve had plenty of distractions, so it’s really easy to forget this little plot contrivance. Also, Hestia is 100% doing this for petty reasons too. And the reason she wants both women as her allies is to get one over on Diana (I think). Plus, Diana, as crown princess, does really need a reality check ngl. Like, she’s no longer healing commoners, but she also expects the nobles to fall into line when she does nothing fitting her position (hosting events in the palace is one thing). She needs to know she will not be universally loved and learn to work for it / pay back those who got her there.
actually this time it feels like hestia has gone off track into pettyville. she already demonstrated that she can make diana miserable without public shaming with a direct audience – so it seems kinda… juvenile bullying in this context
@haurva, actually there is an older head maid who is helping her, but the thing is Diana stubbornly refused to listen to the older maid and wanted to serve humble snacks because she hates the luxury (like food) that the palace serves so she is serving humble snacks right now… I’m actually surprised that there’s even like a slice of cake in there, because the novel describe that the snacks that was served are like snacks that the poor eats and everyone is in fact disappointed and only Hestia will be voicing everyone’s inner thoughts. After the Tea Party, that older maid will actually quit because of Diana, Helios and the Emperor tried to stop her since she has been serving the royal family even before Helios was born, since she’s just a maid, she couldn’t make the royal family choose between her and Diana since Diana is currently holding a higher position that her, in which in the end, the royal family announced that she is retiring due to old age, to save Diana’s face. And During this Tea Party, was when it was hinted that Helios now has a crush on Hestia (he’ll arrive maybe next chapter 32 or 33). And this is also the beginning of Hestia making a name for herself as someone you shouldn’t make enemies with (because in the novel, she was later describe as someone you cannot messed with, that Helios himself is careful around her).
she probably could’ve gotten away with it if she’d scheduled the tea party sooner and invited the highborn ladies to help her plan it. instead of making a valid political point, now it just looks like she’s petty and snubbing them instead of trying to convey anything worth hearing. context for political messages is always important and she just… totally forgot that. i love when stories bother to think through situations instead of just “mean girl does mean thing! ppl get mad at mean girl for being mean!” like… no, there are ways to screw a person over that don’t involve bullying. it’s allowed to be complicated
