So it’s interesting to be how after Diana got her “catch” her purpose ends and she’s losing her powers while Hestia is healing Cael and (eventually making a family and hearth) and only seems to be getting stronger. But that’s just a thought. It in no way ties to the story lol
the way y’all are calling cael insensitive and bashing him for asking that question when he was literally in love with the saintess to the point of running away and persistently trying to kill himself, which he did succeed in doing before the fl went to the past DESPITE MEETING HER BEFOREHAND ?. a love that extreme is NOT AT ALL easy to get over, even if a new girl is in the picture who obviously likes him. considering his situation, he definitely would not be able to fall in love and reciprocate the feelings of an unknown girl who showed up at his mansion one day, even if she’s only done good for him.

Those who have experienced being deeply in love–and by that I mean the true meaning of the word which far surpasses anything superficial like looks, monetary values, age etc.- they would know it is not something you’d go and just forget or brush past so easily.
It literally mingles within your soul and you are inseparable from it. Unless something vaster and more precious comes forth, you cannot break through it. Even then you wouldn’t just forget, you would *let go*. To ‘let go’ is a whole different concept than what one would do when breaking up with someone or getting dumped. It is much much deeper than that.
Cael’s love for Diana was such a deep, pure and wholesome feeling and not just a crush, a passing sentiment, an excitement or lust. Such a feeling doesn’t go away with normal means. You would not forget, the only cure is a love much deeper, and greater than the last. A greater love which would SWALLOW the former!! Thats how it is!
And I think this is what is going to happen here.
To love is to be patient first and foremost, be it with your lover your child, your parents or a very precious friend. That is Hestia’s main objective now.
And of course, we know that her efforts will come to fruition at last. It may take some time, but the outcome is certain.

Like isn’t it obvious that if he loved Diana strongly enough to not see the point in living any more and not even blame her for leaving or choosing someone else, he won’t get over it in a matter of days just because of some girl whom he NEVER ever even saw before in his life (no offense to our FL, she is great but at this point she is nothing more than that to him). If that really would have happened THAT would have actually made him a shallow jerk, not his current behaviour. He is not obliged to fall in love with someone right away just because they are nice to him and I doubt that if the roles were reversed female character would have got the same reaction so.. double standards much? Besides at this point FL doesn’t expect any affection from him either, so saying that he’s doing this on purpose to hurt her like some below is so over the top.
Anyway, personally, I like Cael. He feels very real as a character in deep depression and I also love that Hestia really understands his feelings and doesn’t blame him for (oh, no how could he!) not falling in love with her in just a few weeks after their first meeting. Unlike some of the readers apparently…

But it’s true, his love is way too deep, like it’s installed right in the core of his heart, deep enough that he felt that living is no longer necessary because he is not living if he doesn’t have Diana with him (and I don’t mean just as lover, he would be satisfied to be friends because his love is true, and when we love like that we just want them to be happy, with or with out us).
About Diana I still don’t know how to judge her, the author haven’t explained all her and her husband’s intentions, it showed they care about cael, but now it just feels like she wants to monopolize him and I hated that, but I don’t really know wtf this woman real intention is, so I will wait before saying anything about her (good or bad).

I am glad that I have finally found a manhwa that doesn’t overlooks this kind of situation as “okay”, he is depressed and hestia is there to support him in his darkest moment, she is there to help him go through his healing process with out expecting to be rewarded or to have his love, because that would selfish. Of course she will get hurt, she loves him just like he loves Diana, and seeing him so trapped in a lost love is torture, but that will not stop her from being on his side and save him from depression.
He is little by little being swayed by her, but that’s not gonna happen overnight guys, let’s just enjoy the process and in the end he will see her in the same colors she sees him and there will be a happy ending. This is just the 17 chapter, there’s a long journey ahead.
