There is a possibility that the CP does actually care about Cael as an old friend but couldn’t do anything about his broken heart since it was a matter of love they were both involved in. And now he is kind of trying to somehow mend their soured relationship by congratulating him for finding such ‘an amazing wife’. However, he cannot phrase it properly, and hurts him even further. ‘Cause the truth is Cael being on the verge of collapse and Hestia being nothing but a last resort remedy.
It is also possible for the crown prince to have ulterior motives even now, and he might even turn into an antagonist as the story unfolds. He may grow to like Hestia or get greedy enough to snatch her away as well–for her “powers” of course. But that’s probably not the case right now.
Him calling Cael ‘lucky’ just because there is a woman beside him who can predict whats going to happen!? Even if he doesn’t have any bad intentions, its still painful for Cael to hear after all that has happened between them.
Of course the CP wouldn’t know the actual circumstances since only they themselves know why and how Hestia has become the Marchioness. On the outside, they could parade as a loving couple, but they know its nothung like that themselves. Its just a remedy for Cael’s broken heart and nothing more–for now of course!
So, the whole incident could be described as that. Don’t get too worked up guys!
