The question is, does Isaac know that it wasn’t her but Bertrand behind his parents death?
Now that he got blatantly blackmailed by Bertrand he should know why she did not do anything when his parents were about to get executed.

He always uses a person’s loved-ones to blackmail them, and get what he wants.

@trucksama I agree. It wasn’t reasonable of him to not even question her drastic change in behavior. Yet, consider his condition as well. Someone had persuaded him that it was all Estella’s plan all along and that she is the culprit behind his parent’s death because she loved her!!
Everything was a mess for both of them.
What he really should have done but didn’t was speaking his heart out to her.
Well, men aren’t usually talkative by nature and its worse when they are in a position of power etc.
Their lack of communication in their chaotic situation made their mistrust affect their own relationship. Its natural to grow pessimistic after experiencing betrayal, and they both had their fair share of it. What made the situation worse was their mistrust to come in between the two as well.
That is the main cause of their miscommunication.
And everything went nose-down from that point on.
I’m sure Estella thought she is protecting them by pretending not to care, while enduring everything alone and ultimately breaking apart.
@justazzie i have the same feeling too. i think she is trying to protect them because she has an idea who the culprit is. she asked the divorce for her beloved husband and kids to leave the empire because things gets complicated and out of her control.
I really feel that something going on behind that , her future self trying to make people she love to despise her so its not hard for them leave to her, she want to protect them even if in a hard and painful way…. that’s my conclusion..
