It’s not FL fault honestly, first of all, she’s clearly working to find a way out of her abusive family, the irritation stems from the pace, I’m not sure whether from the release rate or the story itself, it’ll likely only be clear upon a reread after a complete release. I think it’s because there’s so many factors preventing FL from learning the complete truth and forcing her to retain some of the behaviours that were conditioned into her during her trauma’s, as a reader, it’s incredibly frustrating to spend so many chapters where she is unable to heal, nor move on, and is still trapped near her abusers so many chapters in.
Honestly, this is a story to binge, not do a week by week chapter cause it’ll just be annoying. There isn’t anything particularly new or outstanding, it’s a pretty basic story, and the antagonists are not interesting in the least. Personally, I like the FL, but that’s just my type character, ice cold baby girl, but aside from her and the art style, it’s not a particularly mind-blowing story, which is why it quickly becomes boring in a slow release.
I’m getting a bit tired of the FL. She is just so damn passive. Her face literally looks the same everytime. And the whole brainwashing just feels like it’s just there to stretch out the story.
I know this is rude and very much unreasonable of me, but I really wonder what would happen if someone bitchslapped her or poured a bucket of ice water over her head when she goes into that glossy-eyed brainwashed state.
