It’s a bit sad how negatively the female lead thinks about this guy who is undoubtedly the male lead who she will end up with… Wouldn’t it be nice if she already had a soft spot for him even when she was Deborah instead of feeling that he has “always rubbed her the wrong way”?
Distrust turning into love is a repeating trope in manhwas, however it’s super unrealistic and usually will easily turn around again at the slightest suspicion of betrayal. Maybe the author thinks it provides some spice and tension to the budding love-story that would be more boring without the adverse feelings? I hope Irene will not be forced into a marriage and “tamed” afterwards, because this is one of the worst tropes ever.
