Paul also loves Lucius ¹st,I believe so,just look at her saying “okay”. She was believe that she’s ugly and not lovable. She thought no man would want her,see her failure engagement. Paul,was believe she’s barren and the emperor’s close aid took her love luck from her. She believed that she has no chance to be happy like everyone else,so being the emperor’s knight is the only thing she considers luck and happiness. It makes me sad that she needs to marry him even though she doesn’t love him or want to. It’s also sad for the kid, having a mother who doesn’t love him, but at least she is taking responsibility for her mistakes and making the child legitimate.
