I’m not hating this so far. Yes, she keeps on trying to steer a sinking ship, but not because she’s stupid. It’s because she cares too much for those past attachments. She remembers and still cherishes the promise and memories she had with that b*stard’s parent when they treated her like their own daughter and she had promised to take care of their stupid son. And she didn’t abandon herself even with her promise and still tries to move forward with all her might even with her ‘baggage’. The duke being a shit is gonna make the people she has taken care of for literal years suffer but it does seem like the Duke hates her but doesn’t want to lose her management abilities. Seems like while he is quite selfish he isn’t entirely stupid He probably thinks if he marries her she will stay and manage the land under his name while he screws the “pregnant” princess, and taking the last carriage was probably one of his ways to try and stop her since he seems to know she wants to take that test.

my blood boils every single time that douche bag of a duke is in a chapter. him and that snake of a mistress can rot in their mistakes. im frustrated that she’s so pressed to help the dukedom but at the same time I praise her for focusing on the bigger picture rather than getting caught up in her personal feelings.
