@misterio you are correct but important as well is that he said to her mother that she has delusions. So he immediately did not believe her thus lying to her that he does. The trust is broken, if he talks to her to reassure her she will know that he may lie to her.
I’d rather not engage with people who make toxic & vulgar statements but still, I’ve got to say what’s on my mind. First of all she has every right to be upset & hurt. She learned that winning her over was actually a bet between “grown” men & thus she wanted to believe that it wasn’t true & confront him but her soon-to-be “in-laws” looked down on her, deluded her by saying that they all see her as unsuitable for the role of duchess & haven’t given her any chance to speak with him at all. Futhermore her “father in-law” annihilated her entire tribe & this only adds to her distress. I believe that she does not owe anyone any kind of explanation, not even a letter. Mind you, she already had been deceived by him once. If he is really serious about her, he can ditch his whole inheritance & follow her to the end of the world. The ball is in his court!
So you think running away instead of giving an opportunity to talk about it is better? A relationship is built on communication from both sides. She left without even trying to give him a chance to discuss what she heard. If that’s how you operate in relationships as well I pity that person 😅
You seem to have a habit of twsiting words and taking jabs at people for no reason. I can imagine arguments with you escalate quickly – hopefully the person you’re with has a good set of armor, lol. But jokes aside, for me, the main issue here is that you were calling her a slur in case she’s not leaving a letter for him. That’s really immature. I’m not against communication – on the contrary – I would’ve loved to see them talk it out but just like another user mentioned: the trust is broken. Apart from her abitlity to talk to spirits, she’d been honest from the very beginning, she was just afraid of being labeled as mentally ill and her fear became reality. Furthermore he hid his true indentity & made a wager. I believe that I’ve listed a fair share of valid reasons here. Just to emphasize it once more: From here on, it’s up to him to seek her out and communicate. She has been more than lenient enough. Everyone has their pride or – so I thought.
