Abusers often play a cunning game with the ones they abuse, especially if they’re family. Realising you’re being abused can be hard, as the abuser will often make the victim believe that they deserve to be treated that way. The victim may put up with this for a long time, desperately trying to earn love, not realising that love should never have to be earned. Sometimes, they will reach a breaking point, eventually.
