A mesmerizing low-pitched voice rang into my ears. It sounded heavy and deep as if it came from a cave.
It was a devilish baritone, like a deep rumble from a cavern. Lily didn’t seem to notice how it sounded like he was restraining his anger.

I’m reading the novel, and I enjoy it for what it is. Which is smut. It’s pure fucking smut. So what is this? What is this non r-19 nonsense? I MEAN THERE IS SO MUCH SMUT IN THE NOVEL HOW ARE YOU EVEN GOING TO ADAPT THIS? I’M FUCKING ANGRY
I guess I should also rate it, haha. Well, it’s not one of the best, but its not one of the worst. You’ve got the age old formula of abused and neglected, meek FL surrounded by shitty people until she marries the ML. She’s treated better in his home, but the caveat is that she’s not allowed to see his face. I guess it’s alright as a story premise, and if you’re curious about how long it takes her to see his face/figure out his identity It just happened in ch57 , so bear that in mind if you’re impatient. It’s kind of a slow-moving plot and if I’m honest, it doesn’t feel like much happens, apart from the smut, which is why I made that impassioned rant up there. So yeah, it’s a perfectly ‘ok’ read if you’re bored.

This book is so stupid I don‘t recommend reading.
The new law
The story is pretty cute, well-paced (doesn’t stretch any plot points), perfect for the age range (around 15-16+), more slice of life than plot-driven( more fluff than plot-driven scenes) and is quite realistic for the time (tw it discusses domestic abuse, being inclusive of disabilities, “bastardisation” and its effects, etc)
The story has a mature female lead with a strong and insecure male lead. The only real “issues” with the story for me are that a recent antagonist was poorly introduced and that the translation turns the names lily to lilie and Vlad to blad(not good) but apart from the nit-picking, there is not a lot to dislike! I’d say a 5/5.
Actual summary: Lily, a woman married 3 times, is sent to a forced marriage to the duke, who is known as the beast of the battlefield, and an actual beast who is named Vlad. Vlad is incredibly insecure about his face so much so that he hides it from Lily. Their relationship blossoms as they communicate physically. Lily does eventually (sooner than you think) see Vlad’s face and they healthily discuss their perspectives. Other shenanigans ensue, very interesting, read now.

So far I like the webnovel! There are a lot of typical tropes sure but I enjoy the characters and their relationships a lot!! I still think it’s key points are unique and am engaged with the story.
Also idk what this manhwa is rated but the smut in the webnovel is so good and so well-written!!
