Penelope saved him from black market brought him home and clothed him and protected him from knights who bullied him. What did he do in return? Exactly as @clipboard4 said, Siyeon draws a strict line between herself and the original Penelope, to her, this world is a prison and she is being force to participate in it’s story that is also constantly trying to kill her, she is simply trying to leave with whatever means necessary and return to the safe place she worked her whole life to obtain. That is also what makes her eventual true love so romantic, because that person goes beyond the shell of Penelope to find Siyeon and make himself a real person to her.
