Was the princess behind (or supported) the rebellion? And the reason she can’t tell Tristan the “truth” was because they lost the rebellion and she let them die at the gallows while she remained unscathed? I legitimately find it hard to fully grasp what’s going on. The story feels so jank, like nothing is being explained. We don’t really know what the princess’ plan is. What exactly is she working towards? If her plan is to get rid of the emperor and prince, does she plan on being the empress? Does she plan on marrying and making her husband the emperor? Does she plan on letting an extended family become emperor while she runs away?
Also, I’m just so put off by the fact that she basically broke the ML and it’s just being swept under the rug. Like, he was locked for 2 weeks which led him to grow a sort of dependency on the princess. And now we’re supposed to see his “pining” and “loyalty” to her as cute???
