I mean… this is horrible…
While I agree with you about taking action, the plot gave the incompetent king a magic mcguffin of “I can do whatever the heck I want” capable of mass control, enough to make anyone second guess a coup. Are there other ways of getting rid of him without direct human contact like poison, arrow, horse tampering or an untreated infection like cisticercosis? Yup. Waiting for him to kick the bucket by magic over usage would have the same political instability results, so I don’t quite understand FL’s long term goal?
