Just my speculations but I hope I’m wrong, I think the deal Vermouth had with the Demon king is himself (body and soul) in exchange of certain period of peace plus Hamel’s soul. He knew his soul and body will be used by the demon king once he dies, so Vermouth set up everything to accommodate Hamel once he gets reincarnated. Hamel said so himself (earlier part of the story) that he shouldn’t be able to reincarnate bec he got killed with Belial’s attack (iirc his attacks can destroy souls). As for the timeline: (1) Vermouth’s death, where the 3 remaining heroes finally reunited once again after the battle in Helmud. (2) Seyna noticed someone in Hamel’s grave, went there, had a fierce battle with someone, and disappeared. Hamel/Eugene suspects that Seyna fought with Vermouth. By this time, Vermouth should be dead and it could be that he’s either being controlled by Demon king or someone else is inside Vermouth’s dead body. (3) Anise’s pilgrimage, which happened few years later after Seyna’s disappearance. Years later a baby who would soon grow up to look like Anise was abandoned in the abbey.
