@Bunnimilk, I completely agree with you, except my reason was I want to be single because I want peace of mind,no stress and frustrations after getting married. But I too realized couple years ago, I may have money and peace but I also have a huge void inside which cannot be filled with friends, family or money. You can try filling with entertaining yourself with materialistic things, vacations and distractions but they can’t fill that void
I also believed in these kind of quotes to be honest. Specially the “why would anyone choose to get married, if they have enough money”. I was really firm with these quote before few years ago, until i saw a video saying, ” humans are build to be social to other people, they crave for company and a partner to be with for the rest of their life. Most of the time, people are just going into marriage not because of love but because they wanted a partner to be with, somewhat compatible and would made them feel at home. One thing that people hate the most was the feeling of being alone.”. While the money factor was sure a good thing to have, i used to have everything- even money. But while i do have these, i still feel depressed and lonely. I used to even buy a lot of material things to fill the gap on my heart just so i would entertained and happy. But it made me soon realize, that the happiness for that was only temporary. I still feel depressed asf, its horrible.
