I genuinely cannot understand the concept of love you all hold when you even read this. I cannot even read this for fun. And the mere fact that it is so glorified to the point that even while having an objective stance while reading it, you’ll end up genuinely just hating the author and the characters in it. This is in no way romance. It is disgusting and abusive. There are millions of good manhwas to read and giving a shitty, glorifying abuse of a manhwa shouldn’t be your priorities. I may have read the novel from an angle, but I don’t like him. I knew he would be bad going into the novel. I understood the genre, but I am so sorry. It’s a good story, mind you. But he is bad through and through.

Matthias is complex to understand. Layla accepted his complexity, understood the motivation behind his actions and focused on his positive traits while acknowledging his flaws. She understood that he might not always make the Right choice but he’s doing everything for her. She appreciated him for who he was at his core, She loved him despite his Morally ambiguous behavior, potentially by seeing his internal struggles and capacity for GOOD even when he was making questionable decisions.

PLEASE don’t read on unofficial sites, they are basically writing fan fictions by adding their own views and lines which doesn’t even exist in official novel. They are making characters look extra bad and leave out the important details like Matthias meeting Lawyer to cancel his engagement before Layla ran away and left him and Layla’s subtle hints of her feelings for Matthias. SOME readers assume it to be STOCKHOLM SYNDROME because unofficial sites leave out the details of Layla’s feelings for Matthias. MANY readers misunderstood the story after reading on unofficial sites. PLEASE Read story on YONDER APP. AND there are chances the story may be uploaded on wattpad after 6-7 months.

This novel provides realistic views about how Duke falls in love with commoner Layla when their status is causing their relationship to be forbidden. Unlike other novels nowadays which are making it look easy to marry a man with noble status. They had to go through so much emotional turmoil to be together and had to break social norms.🦋🦋❣❣

DUKE Matthias is a MORALLY GREY CHARACTER. Matthias is not clear cut Good or Bad like a Morally grey character. Such people knows what they are saying or doing at the moment would cause harm/damage but they do it anyway because they focus on their ambition at that moment. After finding the damage they caused, they feel remorseful and try to control the damage. Instead of saying sorry, they seek redemption. I think Matthias’s actions are similar to Morally grey characters than Red Flag. I think we should pay attention to intention behind the actions of such characters instead of their words.
